Chỉ riêng số 3 của Tông chiếu Dung Nhan Lòng Xót Thương (Misericordiae vultus) đã có ít là sáu lần nhắc đến “lòng thương xót”. Thật đáng suy gẫm!

Misericordiae vultus, số 3

3. At times we are called to gaze even more attentively on mercy so that we may become a more effective sign of the Father’s action in our lives. (APV 3,1) For this reason I have proclaimed an Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercyas a special time for the Church, a time when the witness of believers might grow stronger and more effective. (APV 3,2) The Holy Year will open on 8 December 2015, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. (APV 3,3) This liturgical feast day recalls God’s action from the very beginning of the history of mankind. (APV 3,4) After the sin of Adam and Eve, God did not wish to leave humanity alone in the throes of evil. (APV 3,5) And so he turned his gaze to Mary, holy and immaculate in love (cf. Eph1:4), choosing her to be the Mother of man’s Redeemer. (APV 3,6) When faced with the gravity of sin, God responds with the fullness of mercy. (APV 3,7) Mercy will always be greater than any sin, and no one can place limits on the love of God who is ever ready to forgive. (APV 3,8) I will have the joy of opening the Holy Door on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. (APV 3,9) On that day, the Holy Door will become a Door of Mercy through which anyone who enters will experience the love of God who consoles, pardons, and instils hope. (APV 3,10) On the following Sunday, the Third Sunday of Advent, the Holy Door of the Cathedral of Rome – that is, the Basilica of Saint John Lateran – will be opened.  (APV 3,11) In the following weeks, the Holy Doors of the other Papal Basilicas will be opened. (APV 3,12) On the same Sunday, I will announce that in every local church, at the cathedral – the mother church of the faithful in any particular area – or, alternatively, at the co-cathedral or another church of special significance, a Door of Mercy will be opened for the duration of the Holy Year. (APV 3,13) At the discretion of the local ordinary, a similar door may be opened at any shrine frequented by large groups of pilgrims, since visits to these holy sites are so often grace-filled moments, as people discover a path to conversion. (APV 3,14) Every Particular Church, therefore, will be directly involved in living out this Holy Year as an extraordinary moment of grace and spiritual renewal. (APV 3,15) Thus the Jubilee will be celebrated both in Rome and in the Particular Churches as a visible sign of the Church’s universal communion. (APV 3,16)  
4. Il y a des moments où nous sommes appelés de façon encore plus pressante, à fixer notre regard sur la misé-ricorde, afin de devenir nous aussi signe efficace de l’agir du Père. (APV 3,1) C’est la raison pour laquelle j’ai voulu ce Jubilé Extraordinaire de la Miséricorde, comme un temps favorable pour l’Eglise, afin que le témoignage rendu par les croyants soit plus fort et plus efficace. (APV 3,2) L’Année Sainte s’ouvrira le 8 dé-cembre 2015, solennité de l’Immaculée Conception. (APV 3,3) Cette fête liturgique montre comment Dieu agit dès le commencement de notre histoire. (APV 3,4) Après qu’Adam et Eve eurent péché, Dieu n’a pas voulu que l’humanité demeure seule et en proie au mal. (APV 3,5) C’est pourquoi Marie a été pensée et voulue sainte et immaculée dans l’amour (cf. Ep 1,4), pour qu’elle devienne la Mère du Rédempteur de l’homme. (APV 3,6) Face à la gravité du péché, Dieu répond par la plénitude du pardon. (APV 3,7) La miséricorde sera toujours plus grande que le péché, et nul ne peut imposer une limite à l’amour de Dieu qui pardonne. (APV 3,8) En cette fête de l’Immaculée Conception, j’aurai la joie d’ouvrir la Porte Sainte. (APV 3,9) En cette occasion, ce sera une Porte de la Miséricorde, où quiconque entrera pourra faire l’expérience de l’amour de Dieu qui console, pardonne, et donne l’espérance. (APV 3,10) Le dimanche suivant, troisième de l’Avent, la Porte Sainte sera ouverte dans la cathédrale de Rome, la Basilique Saint Jean de Latran. (APV 3,11) Ensuite seront ouvertes les Portes Saintes dans les autres Basiliques papales. (APV 3,12) Ce même diman–che, je désire que dans chaque Eglise particulière, dans la cathédrale qui est l’Eglise-mère pour tous les fidèles, ou bien dans la co-cathédrale ou dans une église d’importance particulière, une Porte de la Miséricorde soit également ouverte pendant toute l’Année Sainte. (APV 3,13) Au choix de l’Ordinaire du lieu, elle pourra aussi être ouverte dans les Sanctuaires où affluent tant de pèlerins qui, dans ces lieux ont le cœur touché par la grâce et trouvent le chemin de la conversion. (APV  3,14) Chaque Eglise particulière est donc directement invitée à vivre cette Année Sainte comme un moment extraordinaire de grâce et de renouveau spirituel. (APV 3,15) Donc, le Jubilé sera célébré à Rome, de même que dans les Eglises particulières, comme signe visible de la communion de toute l’Eglise. (APV 3,16)
5. Có những lúc chúng ta còn được mời gọi để dán mắt nhìn chăm chú hơn vào lòng thương xót để có thể trở nên dấu chỉ hữu hiệu hơn cho tác động của Chúa Cha trong cuộc sống của chúng ta. (APV 3,1) Vì lý do này, tôi đã công bố Năm Thánh Ngoại Thường về Lòng Thương Xót là thời gian đặc biệt đối với Giáo hội, một thời gian mà theo đó việc làm chứng nhân của các tín hữu có thể phát triển mạnh mẽ và hiệu quả hơn. (APV 3,2) Năm Thánh sẽ được khai mạc vào ngày 08 tháng 12 năm 2015, Lễ trọng Đức Mẹ Vô Nhiễm Nguyên Tội. (APV 3,3) Ngày lễ phụng vụ này nhắc nhớ tác động của Thiên Chúa ngay từ đầu lịch sử nhân loại. (APV 3,4) Sau khi Ông A-đam và Bà E-và phạm tội, Thiên Chúa không muốn để nhân loại cô đơn trong những thống khổ của sự dữ. (APV 3,5) Vì thế, Ngài nghĩ đến Đức Ma-ri-a, thánh thiện và tinh tuyền trong tình yêu (x. Ep 1,4), chọn Mẹ là Mẹ Đấng Cứu Độ của nhân loại. (APV 3,6) Khi trực diện với sự nặng nề của tội lỗi, Thiên Chúa đáp lại bằng sự tràn đầy lòng xót thương. (APV 3,7) Lòng thương xót luôn lớn hơn bất kỳ tội lỗi nào, và chẳng ai có thể đặt ra những giới hạn cho tình yêu của Thiên Chúa, Đấng luôn sẵn lòng tha thứ. (APV 3,8) Tôi sẽ được niềm vui mở Cửa Thánh trong Đại lễ Đức mẹ Vô Nhiễm Nguyên Tội. (APV 3,9) Hôm đó, Cửa Thánh sẽ trở thành Cửa của Lòng Thương Xót mà bất cứ ai bước vào đều được cảm nghiệm tình yêu của Thiên Chúa, Đấng an ủi, tha thứ và khơi lên niềm hy vọng. (APV 3,10) Vào Chúa nhật sau đó, tức là Chúa nhật thứ ba Mùa Vọng, Cửa Thánh của Nhà thờ Chánh tòa Rô-ma, Vương cung Thánh Đường Gio-an La-tê-ra-nô, sẽ được mở ra. (APV 3,11) Trong các tuần lễ tiếp theo, các Cửa Thánh của các đền thờ giáo hoàng khác cũng sẽ được mở ra. (APV 3,12) Cùng ngày Chúa nhật đó, tôi sẽ thông báo rằng ở mỗi giáo hội địa phương, tại ngôi nhà thờ chánh tòa – nhà thờ mẹ của các tín hữu trong một khu vực cụ thể – hoặc tại nhà thờ đồng chánh tòa hoặc tại một nhà thờ khác có ý nghĩa đặc biệt, Cửa Lòng Thương Xót sẽ được mở ra trong suốt thời gian của Năm Thánh. (APV 3,13) Theo quyết định cẩn trọng của đấng bản quyền địa phương, một cửa tương tự có thể được mở ra ở bất kỳ đền thánh nào thường xuyên có các nhóm đông người đến hành hương, vì những chuyến viếng thăm các nơi thánh này thường là những khoảnh khắc được đong đầy ân sủng, khi người ta phát hiện ra con đường hoán cải. (APV 3,14) Vì thế, mỗi giáo hội địa phương sẽ trực tiếp dự phần trong việc sống Năm Thánh này như một thời điểm đặc biệt của ân sủng và canh tân tinh thần. (APV 3,15) Vậy là, Năm Thánh sẽ được cử hành cả ở Rô-ma cũng như trong các giáo hội địa phương như dấu chỉ hữu hình sự hiệp thông phổ quát của Giáo hội. (APV 3,16)
